About me

I was born in Germany, but my parents immigrated with me when I was still a child. So I spent over 13 years in sunny Southern Spain.

After school, in 2007, I discovered my passion for Damascus knives there by chance and I began an apprenticeship as a knife maker in Albacete. Although I had already learned a lot during my internship, I wanted to find out more about the various metals and how they are processed. Therefore, I decided to pursue another apprenticeship as a goldsmith at level 4 in the Netherlands, which is similar to that of a master goldsmith. Since then, the fascinating craft of goldsmithing has never let me go.

From 2012 I worked as a freelancer in my own workshop on the island of Rügen and specialized in mokume gane. In 2015, I attended the HBZ Münster, and in early 2016, I received my master's certificate. In 2017, together with my wife Maryam, I opened my goldsmith's studio in Bad Rothenfelde.

Since 2019, I have also been working as a lecturer at the Münster Chamber of Crafts Education Center, where I teach the master school, the ÜLU's and since 2022 also the further training "Jewelry and Gemstone Setting". I enjoy sharing my knowledge and experiences.

Sailboat

In my free time, I am passionate about sailing.

My father took me out on the water at a young age. I enjoy it when the wind whistles and the waves crash against the hull. The freedom I experience on the sea, feeling the sway and the vastness of the ocean before me, is the perfect complement to my profession.
